Setting Indents

You can set the amount of space between the left and right borders of a text object and the edges of each paragraph using the Indent tab of the Type palette or the Properties bar. For text wrapped around an object, you can also use the Indents tab to set the distance between the edge of the object and the text.

The Properties bar shows indent positions for one selected object at a time; therefore, you cannot use it to set indents for the preset format or for multiple selected objects.

To Set Indents on the Type Palette:

  1. Choose Text | Type.
  2. In the Type palette, click the Indent tab.
  3. Enter the indent settings.
  4. Click Apply to implement the indent settings.
