Setting Drop Caps
Setting Drop Caps
Drop caps are large characters that extend below the normal baseline of the first line of an opening paragraph. Canvas X Draw indents the text below the first line to make room for the drop caps. You can format drop caps for any selected paragraphs.
To Create a Drop Cap:
- Choose Text | Type.
- In the Type palette, click the Indent tab to bring it to the front.
- Depending on how you want the drop cap to apply, do one of the following:
- Configure the drop cap options described below.
- Click Apply.
To apply to | Do this |
First paragraph in a text object | Select the object or place the insertion point anywhere in the first paragraph. |
All other paragraphs | Place the insertion point in a paragraph, or select a paragraph. You can also select multiple consecutive paragraphs. |
A new paragraph you are about to type | Place the insertion point at the beginning of the paragraph. |
The preset format | Deselect all objects. Canvas X Draw will apply drop caps to the first paragraph of all new text objects you create with the Text tool. |
