How to Uninstall Canvas on Windows
Overview: This article outlines how to remove Canvas X from your Windows PC
Applies To: Canvas X Draw, Canvas X Geo
1. For Windows versions 10 and 11 earlier:
Steps To Perform:
- Open the Windows Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs, select Canvas X and click Uninstall.
- Delete the Canvas X Application settings under the user profile folder:
- In Windows Explorer, navigate to this folder: C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\ACD Systems or Canvas GFX
- Delete the "Canvas X" folder.
Note : If you cannot view the Application Data folder:
- Open File Explorer from the taskbar.
- Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.
- Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
- Click Apply and click OK.
3. Navigate to C:\Program Files\ACD Systems or Canvas GFX. Delete the "Canvas X" folder if it exists.
4. Now, please be very careful with the following steps:
- From the Start Menu click Run.
- Type in "Regedit" and click OK. You are now in the Windows Registry Editor.
- Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ACD Systems or Canvas GFX\
- Delete the Canvas X folder if it exists.
- Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ACD Systems or Canvas GFX\
- Delete the Canvas X folder if it exists.
- Exit the Windows Registry Editor.
5. Restart your PC.
You can now re-install Canvas X.

2. For Windows version 11:
Steps To Perform:
Click once on your monitor screen, then on your key board hold down the Windows Key, then press the R key.
In the Popup Box type in " Regedit " and click OK.
The next Popup box asks if you want the "Regedit" program to make changes to your Device, Select Yes. You are now in the Windows Registry Editor.
Delete: ACD Systems, if it exists, and Canvas GFX
You can now re-install Canvas X.
