How To Create Custom Keyboard Shortcuts (Mac)

How To Create Custom Keyboard Shortcuts (Mac)

Overview: You can create custom keyboard shortcuts to be used within Canvas X Draw. In the Mac version, keyboard shortcuts are created through the Mac System Preferences.

Applies To: Canvas X Draw

Step To Perform:
1. Choose the menu item you wish to create a shortcut of. For this example we will use Create..., found in the Image > Area menu.

2. Notice that there are 3 dots included in the name. **It is important that the shortcut name is entered exactly as seen in the Canvas X Draw menu, for it to work.

3. Quit Canvas X Draw.

4. Open your Mac's System Preferences

5. Open Keyboard and select the Shortcuts tab.

6. Select App Shortcuts in the area on the left, then click the “+”.

7. Select Canvas X Draw in the Application pull-down list and type "Create..."in the Menu title. Add a custom keyboard shortcut.

8. Open Canvas X Draw. Select Image > Area. Your custom keyboard shortcut will appear.

Note: Canvas X Draw has standard core keyboard shortcuts. Adding a custom shortcut that is already in use by the program may cause a conflict.
