How to Convert MetaObjects to Canvas Objects
Overview: When pasting into Canvas X from other applications, a MetaObject container is created. The MetaObject is a Canvas X "Container" for a system metafile (WMF/EMF). These files are not readily editable until you convert to a Canvas object.
Applies To: Canvas X, Canvas X Geo, Canvas X3
Steps To Convert:
- Copy and paste text or an object from MS Word, for example.
- In Canvas X, paste into your document area.
- Select the pasted object. The Status bar will display it as a MetaObject:
- In the Properties Bar, click on "Convert to Objects".
- The MetaObject is now converted to a group or displays the property in which the object started. In this case, Text.
- This is now further editable using the Text Tools and features within Canvas X.
